Local Trio On Winning Side Of Inaugural Lions All-Star Flag Football Game
Summary of the Manteca Bulletin story on Angelique Gonzalez, Larissa Harries, and Keira McCulley helping the North win the first-ever Lions All-Star Flag Football Game.
Angelique Gonzalez, Larissa Harries, and Keira McCulley were part of Lions history on Saturday, June 20, 2026, helping the North roll to a 44-6 win over the South in the inaugural Lions All-Star Flag Football Game at Wayne Schneider Stadium on the campus of Tracy High School.
The North scored the game's first 24 points and controlled the second half, giving the local trio a winning finish in the first all-star flag football showcase connected to the Lions All-Star Football event.
North Takes Control
Emma Coronado of Kimball was named Most Valuable Player after leading the North offense. Coronado, a MaxPreps All-State First Team selection, completed 13 of 20 passes for 248 yards and four touchdowns. At one point, she completed nine straight passes. She also rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown.
Sosefina Hunkin of St. Mary's earned Defensive Player of the Game honors after recording six flag pulls, a sack, three interceptions, and a pick-six. She also added a 16-yard touchdown reception on offense.
Izabella Gutierrez of Tracy was named Offensive Player of the Game after scoring twice, once on a 9-yard run and again on a 56-yard reception.
Harries Makes Plays Both Ways
Larissa Harries of East Union, the Valley Oak League MVP, made an impact on both sides of the ball. The center and linebacker was one of five North players with a team-high two catches, with receptions of 17 yards and 22 yards that each moved the chains.
On defense, Harries added an interception and also picked off the South's lone conversion attempt. She said the all-star week was an amazing experience, from the first practice through game day, and that she hopes the opportunity helps springboard her toward a future scholarship in the sport.
Harries plans to attend Modesto Junior College to begin studying kinesiology while continuing to train and pursue four-year flag football opportunities.
McCulley Earns Inspirational Honor
For Keira McCulley of Manteca, the game served as validation of how quickly her flag football path has grown. McCulley has a verbal commitment to Hope International University in Fullerton, the reigning champion of the Great Southwest Athletic Conference.
McCulley said that when she first began playing flag football as a junior, she did not know college opportunities in the sport would be possible. Being selected for the all-star game and preparing for college flag football made the moment especially meaningful.
In the Lions game, McCulley finished with three flag pulls, including one for a loss. She also made an impression beyond the stat sheet and was named the North's Most Inspirational Player. Ivy Butler of Pitman received the same honor for the South.
Gonzalez Represents Lathrop
Angelique Gonzalez of Lathrop treated the game as both a final football memory and a chance to represent her program. An All-Western Athletic Conference First Team selection, Gonzalez helped Lathrop win its first league championship last fall.
She contributed two flag pulls for the North and said she wanted to inspire returning and future Lathrop players to keep building the program. Gonzalez plans to attend Modesto Junior College and pursue a career in nursing.
South Battles Through Injury
The South faced early adversity when starting quarterback Audrey Pacheco of Gregori left the game with an injury on the team's second offensive series. Olivia Costa of Livingston stepped in and completed 14 of 27 passes for 134 yards.
Costa connected with Aynoor Bains of El Capitan for a 32-yard touchdown with 1:15 left in the first half, producing the South's only points of the game.
